I tried your app but the icons in the lower left and right part of the screen are different then the one in the pic and i can only get the light saber to turn on but when i move the phone it does not make any swinging or hitting sounds but the back round music works great :)

The screenshot is from an earlier (Beta-like) edition. I have changed the buttons and are not entirely done with the graphics. The swinging sounds should work though. You are the very first to report this error. All good support should start with: Make sure you have the volume up and the pnone is not silent mode) First of all this app only works on a HTC Touch Diamond. (Be aware that it has only been tested on European Diamonds. - I have heard that there is hardware differences between the editions.)

Same issue here on HTC Diamond. No sound change even when shaking my device violently!

Same problem with me, turns on but just sits there buzzing away. Music works, just no movement detection. Although i have noticed it makes a swinging sound when i open the screen once (it doesnt make the sound again if i re-open the screen). Using a HTC Fuze (A rebranded version of the HTC Touch Pro) with windows 6.1.

Hmm. Notice that the app does not consider if you shake the phone hard or slowly. Its triggered by the change of direction. In the upper left corner you can see a little text: FaceUp. When the direction changes it should say Landscape, Reversed Landscape and so forth. The triggering happends in about 45-50 degrees tilt, so you will have til tilt it pretty much.

Hi. I have a original HTC Touch Pro. Thats diamond with keyboard. I can activate the saber, deactivate it, play the music and exit, but it does not recognize any movement. Only when I open up the hardware keyboard, I get one -swoosh- and when I close it, I get a -swoosh- again. Both with a delay. Seems like a really funny program. I hope that you have the motivation to squeeze this bug from it.

HTC Touch Diamond light saber

As a proof of concept i earlier made a light saber application for the HTC Touch Diamond. It uses the accelerometer to control the figthing sounds and has background music.

Here you can download the latest build. Keep in mind that this is a proof of concept so there's still some minor fixes like better button graphics and stuff.

Feel free to comment any suggestions.

Download the .cab file here

Note: Be aware of that, to prevent a minor bug i have been forced to switch from .mp3 to .wav format. This makes the program rather large (in WM device scale) so remember to install the application on the Internal Storage.
